Transformers Group Timelines

This page records the chronological timeline of every group or organisation in Transformers. Groups and organisations guesting from the Marvel Universe, or from Action Force/GI Joe only get their Transformers-related appearances listed. Appearances are listed by issue number rather than story title, and both UK and US comics are listed in full.

Appearances in flashbacks are noted as are behind the scenes "appearances" (i.e. the group is there, but you don't actually see them). Also, appearances that only happen in UK continuity or only in US continuity are noted. Where a story is reprinted on both sides of the Atlantic, the issues are listed side by side. In this case, the notes apply only to the issue number which they immediately follow. First appearances are noted by blue (for US continuity) and red (for UK continuity).

Groups are listed when characters are appearing as that group. If a couple of Aerialbots are sent on a mission with some other Autobots, they count as Autobots rather than Aerialbots for that appearance. Appearances by the Autobots and Decepticons are listed under several different names, as follows:

• The Autobots are the group that crashed on Earth in the Ark.
• The Autobot Army are the Autobot soldiers from when the war broke out until the Autobot surrender
• The Autobot Resistance is any part of the resistance movement ultimately led by Emirate Xaaron after the surrender
• The Nebulos Autobots are the ones Fortress Maximus led to Nebulos, though after they merged with Grimlock's forces, they count as part of "The Autobots"
• The Autobots (2006) are the ones from the UK comic's 2006 timeline
• The Decepticons are the group that crashed on Earth in the Ark
• The Decepticon Army are the Decepticons who never left Cybertron from the declaration of war onwards
• The Nebulos Decepticons are the ones Scorponok led to Nebulous, though after their merger with Ratbat's Decepticons, they are counted as "the Decepticons".
• The Generation 2 Decepticons are the ones led by Jhiaxus and the Liege Maximo in the Generation 2 Comic
• The Decepticons (2006) are the ones from the UK comic's 2006 timeline

Different comics are denoted by different abbreviations. We currently have no plans to incorporate the UK version of Transformers: Generation 2, simply because it doesn't fit into continuity very well, and it'll be ages before we get round to it anyway. Where there are multiple stories (not including unrelated back-up strips) in a comic or annual, which story is denoted in the following format: UK #130/2 (meaning the second story in UK #130). Comic strip and text stories are enumerated separately, so if there are two stories, and one of them is a text story, you will get the comic strip denoted as UK #83 and the text story as UK #83/text.
